The hardest part of getting a home viewing-ready isn't the work — it's knowing where to start. This checklist walks the whole home in the right order, marking what can be solved digitally when time runs out.
Step 1: The whole home first
- Declutter 30%: furniture and things you can live without until moving day
- Depersonalize: family photos, fridge magnets, name plates — away
- Deep-clean the windows — light is your best free stylist
- Replace dead bulbs and unify colour temperature (warm white)
Step 2: Room by room
- Living room: one clear seating group, cleared surfaces, a throw and a plant
- Kitchen: empty counters — two or three deliberate objects may stay
- Bedroom: made bed with smooth light textiles; symmetry (two nightstands, two lamps)
- Bathroom: everything personal out of sight; fresh towels, hotel-folded
- Hallway: free floor, max three coats on the hooks, a mirror
